New Orleans Cop Is Suspended For Derogatory Comment Left On Blog

A New Orleans cops was placed on suspension after placing a derogatory, inappropriate comment on a local television in regards to the Trayvon Martin case.

According to www.shrevereporttimes.com,

A New Orleans police officer who was placed on desk duty following a shooting has been suspended for posting a comment on a local television station's website about the fatal shooting of Trayvon Martin.
Officer Jason Giroir identified himself as a New Orleans Police Department employee when he wrote, "Act like a thug die like one!" in response to a WWL-TV article about a rally supporting Martin.
Martin was fatally shot last month by a neighborhood watch volunteer. Police Superintendent Ronald Serpas announced Monday that Giroir has been suspended indefinitely without pay. Giroir was under investigation for his role in the March 1 on-duty shooting death of a 20-year-old man.

I'm  not shocked at this inappropriate behavior.   This is what happens when public officials become  intoxicated with power.  Nevertheless, it is extremely disturbing that this frame of thought, let alone this statement is that of a person who has taken an oath to the public. What's even worse is that this is a man who was hired to protect and serve the public. An has the power to use his own discretion in determining the fait of another citizen. The scariest part of this situation is, had he not spoke what he was feeling he would still be in a position to act as a  police officer.   I am extremely glad that he decided to make such foolish statement aloud because at least now we know that he is racist.

Question? how many other public officials share this view and have not voiced it? This world we live in is getting sadder by the day. Again racism is wrong.   Wake up world!
